Using the COVID-19 Environment to Pursue Your Goals

2020 has turned in a direction that none of us expected.

And it’s no secret that it’s not a direction many of us wanted.

But for all that the coronavirus has taken from us, it has given us a wonderful gift. The gift of time.

Us students live such busy lives, often cramming our schedules with all the AP classes, extracurriculars, and social events we can fit. We often find it hard to try to find room for other passions, interests, or ideas we have.

However, with school being taught virtually, with many of our normal activities cancelled, and with summer now here, this issue is no longer upon us. We have all the time in the world now to pursue the things we want.

It’s one thing to have time. It’s another to use it well. Many of us have found that with this sudden abundance of free time, we’ve become unproductive, slouching on the couch all day watching Netflix or playing video games. Therefore, it’s crucial that we still find ways to get things done.

There’s a couple of basic methods you can use to be more productive. Setting a plan for the week of what you want to get done and when you want to get it done is a great way to hold yourself accountable for slacking off. Alternating periods of work with a short break is another great way to keep yourself productive for longer amounts of time. Whatever works for you, do it.

However, time isn’t the only gift that COVID-19 has given us. The virus, particularly the attitudes and behaviors it inspires, has created a vast array of new opportunities for innovative-minded entrepreneurs to jump on. Be it new products that keep people safer, new ways to stay in touch with friends, or new activities to fill newfound free time, this environment that COVID-19 has created is ripe for starting a business and making an impact.

If you want to be productive and make an impact but aren’t really sure what goals you want to reach for, Venzur is the perfect platform for you. For any business or project ideas you have that you’re interested in pursuing, you can post them to the community to see what people think of them and to learn if anyone would want to join you in making them into a reality. If you don’t have ideas of your own, you can still offer feedback to others for their ideas, and if some particularly interest you, you can request to help bring them to life. Or if you don’t want to help build any ideas, you can still use your Venzur membership to explore valuable resources and to learn how other students are changing the world through entrepreneurship.

With the abundance of time that we currently have, there is no better way to spend it than pursuing your entrepreneurial goals and making an impact on the world.
