This is something I’ve spoken on as well. I think the solution includes ambassador programs as you mentioned, as well as coordinated marketing campaigns on social media and through school career development centers.

Definitely second this. I’ve been doing some reading recently and learned that while the techy/flashy ideas are the ones that get the most coverage, it’s the businesses that slightly innovate on existing models that really build wealth.

Don’t even have to go around to people–almost everything can be achieved online now. Although making the rounds certainly couldn’t hurt, and your potential clients might be impressed by your willingness to be confident and pitch yourself in person.

I think you might be underestimating equipment costs. Especially if you want to do high-quality service or to scale to having more capacity, there’s a decent investment needed.

I did this after my freshman summer. It’s hard work and you need to make sure you have enough clients, but it pays well. Let me know if you have any specific questions I can answer.

Second this. You can secure customers ahead of time and make sure there’s actually an opportunity before sinking in money.

Another potential issue with this is that, for it to be valuable, you’ll need a lot of any given school on it. And that will be hard to do (although ambassador programs could help).

Honestly, I think it’s best to think about it as something like a library catalog, but much more smooth and efficient.

Google is clunky, surrounded by sponsored results, etc. This would be streamlined and specialized for just doing prompts. And would have a bunch of categorization/filter options just like similar sites.
